Los Angeles band ReLoVe releases a new ‘Shining Through’ 2020 Lyrics Mix video to spread a positive message of authentic happiness in a time most needed in America. The single from the ‘Music on a Mission!’ EP released on AWAL records is currently rising up the AC HOT and County charts in the USA, after establishing almost 100,000 Spotify streams throughout Europe.
“It’s a simple message of seeing the truth in others by acknowledgment.” Says singer-songwriter Glenn Jost. “Easy enough when you’re in love, but how about tolerating a stranger with opposite viewpoints?”
Jost adds, “We all want acceptance, but life brings division. I wanted to create a euphoric musical connection that would hopefully bring people together!”
Originally from in New York, Jost worked from 13X Grammy Award-winning engineer Bob Ludwig that exposed him to the fine art of audio production in all styles of music, while meticulously listening through the highest quality processing equipment and speakers ever made.
A singing drummer from an early age, Jost settled in Los Angeles and started experimenting in high-fidelity with longtime bandmate multi-instrumentalist Victor Bender from Colombia. Together they produced a rich sound with an infectious reggae vibe, bright horns, and tropical keyboards.
Jost brought in his long-time drum mentor and friend Frank Briggs to lay down the drums and reunited with Sri Lankan bass extraordinaire, after seeing him perform with Herb Albert.
“Vic and I love to tweak for hours in the studio over minuscule audio details.” Jost laughs. “I grew up idolizing the masterful drumming of Frank Briggs. It was a Godsend to feature both Frank and Hussain with their incredible musicianship on this track.”
The soulful icing on the cake was recruiting the beautiful Sonia Harley to add a duet-style approach to ReLoVe’s multicultural sound. Sonia’s voice is heard on many national TV & radio jingles.
Jost recalls “Sonia’s expressive vocals add such smile factor that radiates her joyful and sassy personality. She is a versatile powerhouse that made ‘Shining Through’ come alive!”
Sonia knew guitarist Darrell Crooks from Coolio and The Gap Band who recorded some whimsical reggae guitar parts to complete the recording. The EP ‘Music on a Mission!’ was produced, mixed, and mastered by Victor Bender in North Hollywood, CA and released in 2019 on AWAL Recordings under Kobalt Music Group with Headquarters in London, UK.
The band performed throughout SoCal prior to COVID 19 and continues to work on their next 2021 release.
