YOLANDA ARREY
I was born and raised in Cameroon and moved to the US right after high school. I started writing songs when I was 7. I will write songs from school notes and sing the lyrics to myself. That’s how I passed most of my classes. Even though I’m from Cameroon, and who are listening to Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Paul Simon, and several other amazing artists in the US. I also love a lot of African artists that have influence and ship my style. I write all my songs and direct the music videos. My new album coming up called ”I AM THE STORM” means that in life we are told to fear the storms that come our way. Instead of being afraid of the storms and wondering if you can survive the storms. It is more empowering to tell yourself that you are the storm. That phrase has gotten me through a lot of dark times in my life. We have gone from feeling helpless and defeated to feeling empowered. The name of my upcoming album is I AM THE STORM. It will have 12 songs all original and all written by me.
NEON is the first single from the new album to drop. It is very upbeat and high energy. The video comes out on May 1st. Its a song about loving someone without losing yourself. Its a song about not being a helpless romantic. The video has intense choreography. The full Album comes out June 1st.
