ABOUT: THIS2
“’coming home’ was written about the bittersweet taste of success in your dream career, especially as the long-distance child in the family. It was written a few months after signing our first record deal, as we started to realize just how many important family life moments we were missing in pursuit of striking gold. We talk about our mindset of working through the tough times, going full steam ahead, and accepting we might miss a lot. However, if we work hard enough, one day, we’ll never have to miss another birthday, graduation, funeral, or holiday with the family again.”
ABOUT THIS2:
Based in Nashville by way of Dallas, TX, Evan Carr and Preston Eggert united in 2022 to form THIS2. Evan, a former MMA fighter, channels his emotions into music, inspired by the rock anthems of Panic! At The Disco and Jason Mraz’s soulful melodies. Preston, a recent Belmont University graduate, merges his visual storytelling skills (he’s producing and directing a series of music videos for songs on their forthcoming EP) with his passion for creating beautiful songs. He draws inspiration from the cinematic arrangements of Jon Bellion and the infectious pop melodies of Maroon 5. Driven by their shared vision and fueled by their individual experiences and influences, the dynamic duo that is THIS2 captivates audiences with songs that will get stuck in your head all day.
Building upon the success of their first two singles, “castles” and “normal”, THIS2 is busy supporting pop artist David Michael Frank “Private Party” tour dates in the U.S. Their full EP is set for a release in January 2024.
Song bio:
“’normal’ is a song about navigating the heartbreak of infidelity. It addresses not only the physical and mental tolls that it take on someone, but, most importantly, the healing process.” It was produced by Stefan Skarbek (Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, Jamiroquai).
