DARIO MARGELI
The recording benefits from jazz guitar solos by Hugh Williams from Fernandina Beach, Florida, & other session guitar players. It has a gentle rhythm to keep you awake. The melodies and arrangements are soft and smooth, so you can listen to the song while you work or read. There are plenty of catchy hooks in the song. This recording fits perfectly alongside yacht rock tunes or instrumentals by Norman Brown, Nils, Adam Hawley, and Chris Standring. The song is meant to make you feel good no matter your life circumstances. With breezy vocals, the lyrics of the song invite the listener to practice ”mindfulness” by focusing on the feelings of sadness or tiredness they are experiencing. As Dr. Peter A. Levine observed, people not only remember stories, they also memorize feelings. The song asks you: Does this bad feeling you are experiencing correspond to something that is happening right now, or is it simply something you learned as a child? The final hook of the song says: There is no danger in the now.
He took music lessons in the 80’s, but eventually decided that what he loved most was songwriting, which he learned from carefully studying the structure of songs by Chic and Brass Construction (70’s funk band). In 1990 he recorded some demos inspired by vocal deep house music of artists such as Fingers inc (Larry Heard). He then had to attend college and work and left music behind. In 2008 he participated as a liner notes writer in a pair of CD’s released by NowAgain / Stones Throw Records. He was selected for those projects thanks to a specialized website he managed on rare 45rpms. This inspired him to get back into music and in 2011 he released his first single. In 2013 Dario started studying Buddhist meditation and decided that his songs would be based on the well-being and spiritual concepts that he is learning.
