Bright Pattern – Music to Think, Sweat and Sway — is an Indie rock outfit from Friedberg in Bavaria. The founder and only permanent member is Lukas Dingelmaier. Dingelmaier says of himself that he did not have an easy childhood and youth and ”experienced quite a lot”. After a near-death experience at 17, Dingelmaier decided to do the absolute best possible with his life and devote himself to his passion of music. He started taking guitar lessons and caught up on his A-levels, started reading English-language books and decided to study American Studies after his A-levels in order to write better English-language songs. As he always had to make do with little money and it started to really annoy him, he took a job as a salesman for radio advertising and a few years later switched to IT sales, which gave him a livelihood. After various experiences in bands, he formed Bright Pattern in 2019 with two friends, but they left the band after a few years. Since then, Dingelmaier has been a solo artist who performs with a live band. He writes all the songs himself, produces them at home and in studios of friendly bands and musicians. The sound is fed by influences from David Bowie, The Beatles, Oasis, Van Morrison, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks and the Strokes, as well as Courtney Barnett and Okta Logue. Dingelmaier lives with his wife and two children in a cottage in the country.
